AFLAC is a great concept as far as their product goes. Unfortunately, the sustainability of income is where it suffers. There is no set salary since it is 100% Commission Based Work. This is fine if you have a means of sustaining yourself as you build your book of business.

Very nice people. Worst pay i have ever seen. Not a great place to work for. They want you to be successful, the cooperate side makes it tough. I would pass if I were you.

I was attracted by the idea that I would be making my own schedule, and would be my own boss. What I didn't know was that when they said they would train the new agents, they meant tell them the basics and then tell them to strike it out on their own. They are very much a clique-like group, if you don't fit in you might as well give up. You work yourself half to death and don't make money, you have to go door to door and hope you don't get cussed out, and you have to hope your supervisors actually want you to succeed. Worst job I have ever had.

Cold Calling is the hardest part of this job. You go business to business trying to get an appointment. Once you get the appointment, your DSC will run the appointment with you.

Poor Management and poor leadership. They hire ANYONE who can breathe. Not selective. Need better leaders, but have people in management positions who are very poor managers. Don't really care if you succeed.

Aflac offers a great business opportunity. It can be very lucrative. There is a lot of hard work involved to be successful but it is very rewarding. The hours are flexible but to be successful you must work long hours in the beginning. Over time as you establish your book of business the hours that you put in to succeed will lessen.

You have to be your own hustler for this job. You have to go out to business, walk in and try to get a word out before they ask you why your there. You have to make at least 300 cold calls a day and try to get a appointment. If you get to speak directly with the owner then your golden, but really good luck with that. In order for you to start seeing any $$$ 3 ppl out of a business have to sigh up

It is fully commissioned based when you first start. The more business you write the more you build your monthly residual income. You must put in the work to do good

Awesome to work for, definitely a job for a people person, need to be out going and friendly. Need to be able to work to a lot of businesses. Best if you already know a lot of business contacts.

The company treats you very well and there are a lot of incentive programs to keep you motivated. Everyone you come across enjoys what they are doing. However, you must be well disciplined and capable of being your own boss.

They’re very sketchy and will do unethical things to meet sales goals. Would not recommend this job to anyone as they are very unprofessional people.

Your first year is the hardest to make any money. If you don't have bills or anything you could make it. The local management tries to wear new people out so they can take over any new accounts they may get.

Cold calling, following up with customers and enrollments. Being able to assist someone in their time of need is very rewarding. Also rebuilt relationships with previous companies.

You can learn a lot. You can earn a lot. Very good to get into the insurance business. Pay based on results only. Make what you deserve. Good training and support.

Lots of hours with lots of local travel to be turned away by potential customers. There is constant talk of making money but it takes a good 3 months before you get an traction to make money.

To be fair, you can make a lot of money working here if you have connections and are willing to put in 60+ hours a week (some agents make six figures a year, and I once made $4000 in a single week.) You can meet a lot of interesting people, learn valuable skills that can help further your career, and learn how the insurance industry works. Plus, you can get bonuses for hitting sales goals, and if you get a good district sales manager they can really help you out a lot.

Unfortunately, there is no base salary and pay is 100% commission based for Benefits Consultants such as me, meaning that if you don't make sales you won't get paid. You're considered an independent contractor, so you don't get any benefits, no paid vacation time or sick leave, and they don't withhold your income taxes for you, so you have to figure them yourselves and set aside the money to cover them, which can be very difficult between frequent prolonged periods without pay and commissions chargebacks. You can potentially go weeks at a time without being paid, and when you do get paid you can potentially have to give commissions back if policies you write lapse after less than a year in force. The company also has a staggeringly high turnover rate; I was one of about thirty agents hired on when I started, and after just four months I was one of only two left, and neither of us are still there. The only thing that is good about this company: is that I was able to take my license to another job and make reliable income. The pay is commission based. After sealing a deal, you only get pennies because you have to split the commission with the team. I would not recommend anyone to work for them.

Great if you're great at networking, or have a network of people who want to sign up. Unfortunately, there are so many Aflac reps out there, with more experience than you. Most of the successful people have a spouse that can support through benefits, and a solid wage.
