About as good as it gets in finance.
Software Developer (在職中) – Tokyo, Japan – 2014年8月19日
There are parts of the upper management at this firm that know how to do software development right, and take it seriously, even on the business side.
However the technology stack firmwide is a mess after several acquisitions, the internal tools range from good to terrible, there are about 15 different ticketing systems you have to use get anything IT-related done, and half of those queues are ignored by the people who watch them. It can take months and months to accomplish something as simple as a DB schema change!
Open source used extensively within the firm, however there is absolutely nothing given back to the ecosystem there, even when tools are extended internally, even when said extensions have absolutely nothing to do with the business of the firm at all. Because lawyers.
If you are a decent developer and desire a good salary above all else, you will fit in here. If you are passionate about software development and writing good, clean code, avoid.
fair performance reviews, nice office
business side does not take technology seriously, tons of red tape making it very difficult to get your work done, poor coordination between teams
