Network Administrator in Okinawa JP
It's the marines, not the feelings brigade
Your enlisting into the hardest branch in the US military. Expect your hand to be held at the bare minimum and your body to break about halfway through contract. You'll be overworked, underpaid, underappreciated, and more then likely an alcoholic at age 19. FITFO is the only way you will do most of your day to day tasks. Expect to be yelled at for very minor things by a dude 1-5 years your superior. That being said, (mostly) Everything you'll do has a purpose. You will make friends you'll have for the rest of your life. You kids will sit in awe at the nonsense you pulled in garrison and on deployments. You'll walk into the civilian world with an edge over your non military friends because they wont have the self discipline/drive you do. A former marine using his GI benefits correctly can get a very very good job in the civilian world. Your gonna earn that DD214 though. It will be the one of the/if not the hardest thing you'll ever do.
Diesel Technician/Mechanic in 沖縄県
Fast pace and opportunity to advance your knowledge in your mos
I’ve learned a lot about electrical troubleshooting and alot about Diesel engines. The management higher than my supervisors at my workshop were very dull and Were always worried about the wrong things.
Supply Specialist in 沖縄県
The military is not for everyone. I recommend you seek advice from someone who has been in to get the full concept. But at the end of the day you have to be in to really know, That's all i can say.
Armorer in Okinawa jp
Don't do it
The management doesn't care about you, they just want to advance their careers. The living standards are subpar and you're forced to pay for it. Food is not good at all....would recommend getting married before employment
Maintenance Chief in Iwakuni, Japan
Fun, challenging, dynamic
For those who enjoy service, the dynamic nature of the USMC is rewarding and challenging. Great like minded people as well! Biggest drawbacks are minor or petty in reality. Maintaining grooming standards, early mornings, and being away from home often for long periods can be personally taxing.
