About FunkyCorp

FunkyCorp is a digital agency based in Tokyo. We produce websites and written content for international visitors to Japan, working with high-profile clients to create engaging, practical English-language material with an emphasis on detail and accuracy. Much of our work focuses on historical sites, cultural properties, national parks, and in-depth aspects of Japanese culture. Our projects often involve on-site research, including multi-day trips to locations across Japan.

Ideal candidates:

• Native English writers with experience writing about Japan
• Based in Japan
• Available to travel and conduct in-person interviews or fieldwork
• Impeccable grammar and attention to detail
• A strong understanding of Japanese culture
• A proven track record of producing high-quality written work
• Responsible, reliable, and able to meet deadlines
• Familiar with The Chicago Manual of Style and able to adapt to project-specific guidelines
• Fluency in spoken and written Japanese is desirable but not essential
