About the Company

This role is with a fast-growing robotics company focused on the development of autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) and smart automation solutions for industrial environments. The company's mission is to close the gap between advanced robotics technology and practical real-world applications by creating highly adaptable systems that work seamlessly with existing IoT infrastructure.

With a focus on safety, scalability, and productivity, the team is driving innovation in logistics, manufacturing, and beyond-helping companies realize the promise of Industry 4.0.

Position Overview

We are looking for a hands-on Mechatronics Engineer with a mechanical design focus to support the design and development of next-generation autonomous robots and accessories. You will bridge the mechanical and electrical domains, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to build reliable, manufacturable robotic systems.

This position is ideal for an engineer who is passionate about robotics, motion systems, and building real-world industrial products that make an impact.

Key Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities

  • Electromechanical Design: Integrate mechanical parts with actuators, sensors, PCBs, and drive systems

  • CAD Design: Develop precise 3D models and 2D drawings using parametric CAD tools (with GD&T)

  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose root causes of electromechanical issues and drive resolution

  • Prototype Development: Build and test hardware prototypes, including debugging and iterative improvements

  • DFMA: Design components with scalability, manufacturability, and ease of assembly in mind

  • Documentation: Produce high-quality documentation-BoMs, test reports, and assembly instructions

Additional Responsibilities

  • Electrical Integration: Assist with simple PCB designs and wiring layouts

  • Component Selection: Evaluate and validate motors, encoders, and sensors

  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with software, mechanical, and electrical teams to align design goals

Why Join Us?

  • End-to-End Ownership: Influence technical direction and take responsibility for your designs

  • Real-World Impact: See your work deployed in active industrial environments

  • Technical Growth: Expand your skills in robotics, automation, and mechatronic integration

  • Flexible Workstyle: Remote work available for non-hardware tasks

  • Work-Life Balance: Flextime policy to help you manage your schedule

Qualifications

✅ Required

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field

  • 2+ years of industry experience in mechatronics or robotic hardware development

  • Strong parametric CAD skills (e.g. SolidWorks) and electronics design tools (e.g. Altium, KiCAD)

  • Comfort assembling prototypes and integrating mechanical + electrical subsystems

  • Strong problem-solving skills using tools such as oscilloscopes and multimeters

  • Business-level proficiency in either Japanese or English, and conversational ability in the other

Preferred

  • Experience with AMRs or industrial electromechanical systems

  • Familiarity with wireless communication, sensors, and motion components

  • Proficiency in SolidWorks PDM, Altium, or similar tools

  • Personal or professional exposure to the robotics or automation industry
