仕事内容

The Japanese Customer Service Engineer is part of our global customer service team. Our workd class field service team provides outstanding service and suport to our customers world-wide. We earn our reputation by going above and beyondfor them every day. The service and support team is currently seeking an experienced Customer Service Engineer to become part of the QED family in Japan. In this role the employee will travel domestically and occasionally internationally serviceing our customers in Japan, with some potential to travel to the United State and Europe. The employee will work from a home office when not working on site at customer locations. This role reports to the Global Customer Service Manager, in Rochester, NY, USA.

  • Installs new equipment at customer's facility
  • Ensures new equipment has full funtionallity to defined specifications
  • Installs software and hardware upgrades
  • Provides post-service/install reports to home office
  • Provides remote or on-site technical assistance to troubleshoot, disgnose and repaid equipment including international and after hours support on occasion
  • Conducts training on the safe operation of equipment and demonstrates skills to customers.
  • Conducts root cause analysis to determine the source of the problems, and recommends repair, replacement or other corrective action.
  • Provides a communication link between the customer and the company to help ensure that effective service is provided to the customer.
  • Effectively communicates with customers regarding machine performance and problem resolution.
  • Performs process qualifications routines including standard performance tests and preventive maintenance visits.

Ideally the employee will live close to an international airport, so that travel to customer locations is quick and easy. 求める人材
  • 3 to 5 years experience in CNC machine maintenance and electronics
  • Or a Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related area.
  • Or a combination of experience and education.
  • Fluent in English and Japanese
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills
勤務時間・曜日

Working from home when not at customer locations.

Approximately 50% travel, generally within Japan, but on occasion to the United States or Europe.

Generally Monday-Friday, regular government designated Holidays. Occasional work may be required on SAturdayor Sunday.
