POSITION SUMMARY

Evergreen Outdoor Center is based in Hakuba valley, in the Nagano Prefecture of Japan. The Position is based primarily in Tsugaike Ski Resort, at the newly renovated Alps View Hotel. We are looking for a qualified and driven member of our Housekeeping team in a busy slope side hotel. You will work to maintain and upkeep a high standard of cleanliness and presentation throughout all areas of the hotel.

POSITION DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• 
  Responsible for the daily cleanness of all bedrooms and public areas of the Hotel and making them pleasant for the guest. Checks that the general standards of each bedroom and notify the Hotel Manager or Assistant Manager of any problems or damage.
• 
  Ensuring that all communal areas are clean and tidy at all times, including bathrooms, onsen’s, entrance and corridors.
• 
  Liaising with reception to ensure that the correct rooms are ready for the arrival of guests
• 
  Ensuring linen and cleaning cupboards are well stocked

• 
  Disposing of dirty linen and garbage in the appropriate places

• Be knowledgeable with all facilities, operation hours to be able to answer questions from guests

• 
  Clearing snow from entrances during winter time

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE
Cleaning and tidying up the office, lodge, and hotel. Replacing and or fixing work related tools and equipment, assisting with staff accommodation common areas such as kitchen, toilet bath and personal room clean-up /maintenance.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES

Due to the many variables that affect business operations, occasionally, employees may be asked to perform other duties or assist in efforts outside their primary area of responsibility, when admin staff deems it necessary. This may include performing in any subordinate position.

SUPERVISORY DUTIES
This position will support the overall success of the day to day operations. No supervisory duties are required, but learning and demonstrating Evergreen protocols is a path to advance

GENERAL DUTIES

Daily:

• 
  Clean guest rooms according to the standards of the Hotel

• 
  Ensure all supplies are placed or replenished in all guest rooms

• 
  Ensure all guestroom bathrooms and sinks are cleaned. ABSOLUTELY no hair is visible in the bathrooms

• 
  Ensure drain and hair stoppers are cleaned daily

• 
  Ensure there is no clogs

• 
  Contact maintenance for all visible issues such as but not limited to: clogged bathtub or sink, burned leaks, broken furniture, etc. Log all maintenance issues for Hotel Manager’s review and follow up

• 
  Cleaning and maintaining the restaurant, guest areas and possible snow removal upon arrival

• 
  Ensure lobby, front entrance, guest room hallways and staircase are vacuumed and floor swept daily.

• 
  Cleaning of onsen rooms, resupply guest amenities, and check water cleanliness

• 
  Ensure public restrooms in the lobby floor is cleaned (2 times daily)

• 
  Ensure unused Futon are stored in storage rooms and are kept neat, clean, and tidy

• 
  Ensure parking is clean

• 
  Ensure ski locker room is clean

• 
  Ensure all trash is placed daily in the trash container located in parking area. Recycling and organizing the daily rubbish- Japan has a very detailed disposal system

• 
  Learn the local information of the area to provide general knowledge to guests

Weekly:

• 
  Deep clean of high traffic areas, including carpets, floors, and windows

• 
  Drain and deep cleaning of baths and common areas

• 
  Bed making in the hotel and lodge, cleaning of rooms, office spaces, and other work related venues

• 
  Ensure all dirty linen is placed in linen bag for linen company to take

• 
  Ensure new linen delivered by linen company to be placed in linen storage rooms

• 
  Ensure balcony is clean and tidy (might need snow removal)

• 
  Preparing and submitting requests for cleaning supplies, room supplies, and guest necessities

• 
  Ensure garbage shed is clean and tidy and all garbage are disposed on a timely basis

• 
  Attending to the weekly meeting arranged by Hotel Manager and/or Manager assistant

Monthly:

• 
  Conduct monthly inventoryof all amenities and supplies

• 
  Attend training as arranged by the hotel management team

Seasonal:

• 
  Participate in seasonal induction and onboarding

• 
  Volunteer for an Evergreen or community event or gathering

• 
  Return all Evergreen assets and prep for departure

REQUIRED PROFILE

• 
  Preferably previous working experience in Hotel (experience in restaurant is a plus)

• 
  Physical stamina and mobility including ability to reach, kneel and bend

• 
  Ability to lift, push and pull required load (lift up to 20kg)

• 
  Not afraid to get their hands dirty

• 
  Knowledge of cleaning and sanitation products, techniques and method is a plus

• 
  English conversation level (any other language is a plus)

• 
  Have flexibility to work additional hours based on demand

• 
  Looks neat and present him/herself in a positive hygienic manner

• 
  Willing to learn and adapt
