About the Role
As a Senior Solutions Architect at Zadara, you will be a key member of our global Solutions Architecture (SA) team, working directly with Zadara’s product and engineering teams, as well as Managed Service Providers (MSPs) and customers. Your mission will be to help integrate Zadara’s compute and storage services into customer infrastructure and service offerings, driving business value through innovative cloud solutions.
You will serve as the focal point in Japan, providing technical leadership and strategic guidance to partners and customers. This includes delivering expert advice on integrating Zadara’s services with platforms such as VMware Cloud, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, and other public cloud solutions. You will engage directly with sales executives and partners to craft and implement best-in-class solutions tailored to customer needs.

Your day to day
- Act as the primary technical authority for Zadara’s compute and storage solutions in Japan.
- Collaborate closely with sales, marketing, product, and engineering teams to deliver tailored solutions to customers and partners.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship across the organization through training, documentation, sample configurations, reference architectures, and tools.
- Lead the evaluation and implementation of new professional services, working with internal and external resources to deliver chargeable services.
- Partner with Zadara sales teams to drive customer adoption and maximize business value from Zadara’s services.
- Design and implement comprehensive solutions that integrate Zadara with other cloud platforms (e.g., VMware Cloud, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Serve as a trusted advisor to customers, translating complex technical solutions into business value.
- Contribute to the broader technical community by driving thought leadership and innovation.
What you bring
- Proven experience as a Solutions Architect or in a similar technical leadership role.
- Deep knowledge of cloud infrastructure, storage solutions, and compute services.
- Strong understanding of platforms such as VMware Cloud, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, and hybrid cloud environments.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills, with the ability to engage with both technical and business stakeholders.

Your day to day (Duties & responsibilities)
Customer Relationship Ownership
- Work primarily with existing Managed Service Providers (MSPs), helping them to grow and develop their current
Zadara compute and storage services.
- Become a trusted advisor and develop trusted relationships with key representatives within the customer and
- partner base; working closely with them to understand their ongoing business needs, technical requirements, and
- challenges
- Ensure success in helping customers accelerate their adoption of Zadara comprehensive storage and compute
- services.
- Arrange and deliver in conjunction with sales, SA and support business reviews for the existing customer base.
Customer Cloud Monitoring & Support
- Ensure existing Zadara customer clouds remain operationally healthy by working with support on monitoring and
- management of the customer clouds.
- Arrange and deliver in conjunction with sales, SA and support business reviews for the existing customer base.
- Help train partners and customers on maximizing the benefits of the Zadara ecosystem.
- Position and propose innovative approaches to customer challenges to meet their business goals.
- Demonstrate excellent project management skills, act as a conduit and liaison between customers, support
- service, engineering, and product management and management teams.
Cross-Team Collaboration

- Partner with Account teams, Business Development Managers and Service teams to accelerate customer adoption and revenue goals.
- Work with sales and marketing teams to develop compelling technical content, including whitepapers, blogs, and case studies.
- Contribute to go-to-market strategies by identifying emerging customer needs and market trends and help with sales campaigns.
- Assist in onboarding and mentoring junior solution architects or sales engineers.
- Capture and share best-practice knowledge amongst the Zadara solutions engineering and partner solutions architect communities.
What you bring (Basic qualifications)
- Must have strong communication skills and be very technical, with the ability to earn trust with Zadara customers.

- Fluency in Japanese is mandatory, including the ability to facilitate and translate deep technical discussions;
- Ability to speak and write in Intermediate/Upper Intermediate English is mandatory.
- 5+ years of experience in cloud solution architecture, pre-sales engineering, or cloud consulting.
- 5-10 years of related experience in the IT field, including roles in software development or system engineering
- 7 -year experience in a similar customer-facing role as a Technical Account Manager, Consultant, Solutions.
- Architect, Platform Engineer, Systems Engineer or Cloud Architect.
- Detailed knowledge and expertise around cloud architecture and implementation features.
- (AWS/Azure/GCP,OS, multi-tenancy, virtualization (KVM, VMware and Hyper-V), orchestration, elastic scalability)
- Demonstrate firm knowledge and experience of SAN / NAS / Object storage technologies.
- Demonstrate firm knowledge and experience with Data Center networks and networks’ topologies
- Experience working with customers in highly regulated industries that have requirements for working with one or more security and compliance regimes
- Proven experience in consultative technical sales or professional services with a proven track record of success
- Strong verbal and written communications skills are a must, as well as the ability to collaborate effectively across internal and external organizations and virtual teams.
- The ability to gain credibility and build relationships with all levels in an organization, from technical experts to senior executives.
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges.

Your education
- Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or equivalent experience.
Nice to haves (advantages)
- Advanced degree in computer science, engineering or mathematics or equivalent experience.
- Previous experience working with Managed Service Providers (MSPs).
- Understanding of VMware and/or AWS technologies.
- AWS Solutions Architecture Certification or VMware Certification would be an advantage.
- Understanding of Application workloads such as SQL, Oracle, SharePoint, Docker, Kubernetes services would be an
- advantage.
- Understanding of Backup, Disaster Recovery solutions and architectures.
- Expert software architecture skills and experience building complex software systems designs.
- Extensive hands-on, technical experience working VMware and/or AWS technologies.
