The Technical Sales Manager will drive sales growth and build strong client relationships within the industrial and manufacturing sectors. This position is based in Tokyo and offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to business development and strategic sales initiatives.

Our client is a European-headquartered industrial machinery manufacturer with a long-standing reputation for innovation, quality, and customer service. With a strong footprint in Japan, they serve a wide range of industries, particularly in packaging, printing, and converting. The company is known for its technical excellence, premium equipment, and customer-first approach.

Description

This role has opened to strengthen leadership across sales and service functions.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Leading sales of high-value packaging machinery and related solutions
  • Managing and mentoring the service team to ensure high-quality aftersales support
  • Conducting site visits, evaluating customer needs, and presenting technical proposals
  • Coordinating with global teams for pricing, customization, and technical support
  • Using CRM tools to manage pipeline activity and reporting
  • Participating in trade shows, exhibitions, and marketing campaigns

  • Background in service engineering, with a successful transition into technical sales
  • 5-10 years of experience in capital equipment sales, ideally in packaging, printing, or industrial machinery
  • Native-level Japanese and business-level English
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Experience with CRM tools (Salesforce preferred) and MS Office
  • Familiarity with Japanese business etiquette and B2B industries
