About this opportunity
This position leads the company’s efforts in achieving revenue, profitability and market share growth; ensuring alignment between strategic goals for the country and the activities of the team.
iTero Sales Director is responsible for executing exceptional sales management, and creating and executing new ideas and concepts with the objective of bringing in notable new streams of revenue. The Sales Director will expand the business across the country by locating and contacting potential customers/partners by working with Clear Aligner Sales Team as well as iTero Sales Team whilst also discovering and exploring new opportunities.
iTero Sales Director is a proven sales leader whose energy, focus and determination are channeled to build and maintain a high-performance sales organization to effectively achieve business objectives, and having seamless collaboration within APAC/Global and/or with external parties. Foster a strong culture to support and collaborate with the other business unit is a Must.


Role expectations


In this role, you will…
Essential duties include but are not limited to the following:
  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies and lead countrywide iTero sales organizations both directly and indirectly toward achievement of company’s sales objectives.
  • Develop repeatable sales processes that enable sales force effectives
  • Provide leadership through effective communication of vision, active coaching and development while comparing sales results to goals and taking appropriate action to correct when necessary.
  • Drive the use of analytics to enhance sales forecasting and strategy formulation capabilities
  • Drive business planning process, including sales management and budget control.
  • Ensure effective hiring, orientation, training, development and retention of sales staff.
  • Develop competencies and processes required to create an effective and efficient sales organization.
  • Possess deep knowledge of market and industry trends, competitors, and lead in developing customer strategies and tactics
  • Own weekly, monthly and quarterly sales forecast process and drive forecasting excellence.
  • Develop key strategic customer relationship management.
  • Establish effective relationships and collaborations with other departments (Clear Aligner Sales, Marketing, Finance, SFE, Operations, Customer Service, Legal, etc.) to address key business issues and opportunities.
  • Identify and resolve customer issues and concerns when required
  • Identify distribution coverage gaps and set-up adequate distribution channels
  • Other duties may be assigned.
Main Interaction with:
  • Own Sales team/Territory Managers
  • Clear Aligner Sales leadership team
  • Channel partner management leader
  • Other functions including Marketing, Trainers, Technical Support, Finance, Operation, Legal, Sales Support, Customer Service and so on.
  • Multiple and cross-functional stakeholders in country, region and global
  • Potential and actual customers of the new programme
  • Part of the Country extended leadership Team
Additional responsibilities:
  • Ensures the effective fulfillment of objectives and works to meet sales goals.
  • Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures.
  • Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What we're looking for


In this role, you’ll need …
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or science and minimum 12 years of medical device sales experience with 12+ years of experience managing a direct sales force
  • Experience and success in developing a high performance sales team and a demonstrated ability to lead and manage a diverse sales team.
  • Experience and success in doing sales area/territory management so that the leader can educate his team members
  • Experience in reviewing and managing sales contracts with clear understanding on meanings of terms and conditions
  • Preferably, experience and success in recruiting, developing and managing distributors in Japan
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve sales plans. Has had extensive experience developing and executing tactical sales plans, including quotas, sales incentives and account objectives.
  • Ability to understand and analyze financial information.
  • Good understanding on Healthcare Fair Tarde Code
  • Solid understanding of the dental industry and regulatory requirements and issues is preferred.
  • Ability to build positive working relationships, both internally and externally.
  • Highly organized with very effective time management skills. Use sales database tracking sales performance to proactively manage and improve business
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills with excellent skills in influencing and negotiation.
  • High level of integrity and ethics
SKILLS REQUIRED:
  • Demonstrated clear thinking and analytical skill around sales strategy formulation, and successful application of crafted methodology
  • Demonstrated exceptional oral and written communication in both Japanese and English and active listening skills
  • Excellent in sales forecasting skill
  • Price management skill
  • Possess a proven record of maintaining a high level of client and employee satisfaction and a strong affinity with the business development process and organization-wide culture

  • Ability to travel at least 40% of the time
